We decided to meet up with our dockmates Mike and Linda from Tranquilo (Motor Yacht) and spend a weekend on Catalina together!
After Mike and Erika found a suitable weekend – we planned the first day on Avalon (so we could hit up Steve’s Steakhouse of course) and enjoy the comforts of the small Town, then head down to Cherry Cove near Two Harbors and pick up a mooring ball.
Good news – The trip went off without a hitch, and we even we’re lucky to have Dylan Pfeiffer (our rigger) along for some fine tuning of the new running rigging and an extra hand for the crossing.
Photos from the crossing – MDR to Avalon
Photos from Dinner at Steve’s Steakhouse (a meal is so much better after a long sail!):
Time to head to Two Harbors!
Some of the best moments were just chilling in Cherry Cove and paddle boarding, jumping off the dodger top, and rowing around:
Gotta row home now!!
Signing off with Furley from M/V Tranquilo:
We can’t wait to do it again and wanted to sincerely thank Mike and Linda Smith from M/V Tranquilo – they are true Catalina Island veterans and showed us the ropes!!!
